Solar Energy is a Chicagoland business dedicated to providing an affordable alternative to rising electricity costs. Since 1982, Solar Energy has helped thousands of homeowners lower their monthly electric bills by installing photovoltaic solar energy systems on their homes. However, that's not all. Solar Energy also offers solar hot water heaters and pool heaters. The philosophy of Solar Energy is simple: provide high quality, affordable, energy efficient solar power products for your home and business.
At Solar Energy of Illinois, we want to educate consumers how the use of fossil fuels affects the earth. We know that clean, reliable solar energy is an alternative to these fossil fuels and the toxins emitted when they are converted to energy.

We considered installing a solar photovoltaic system for our residential home, a new construction, for many months. It seemed the clear choice for the environment and for our children's future. A more difficult decision involved the so-called "break-even" financial point. Therefore we requested three proposals from three different solar companies and allowed each company to provide what they believed was the best system.

If you have a pool, you are more than familiar with the traditional costs of heating it. However, you can quickly lower those monthly bills with a solar pool heating system. We offer solar pool heaters for both residential and commercial use. This sufficient way of heating the pool water has exceptional quality, efficiency, and is one of the most cost-effective ways of harnessing the sun's power. Also the system needs very little or no maintenance throughout the year.
How does it work?
Solar pool heating systems use the pool's exiting pump to circulate the water through the solar thermal collectors, which can be mounted either on a ground rack or a roof. As the water flows through passageways inside the collectors, it quickly gets heated by the sun. Once water passes through all of the collectors and the desired temperature is reached, it gets drained back into the pool. The entire system is monitored by a 3-way valve and a valve controller, using special sensors to control the water temperature. This way a desired temperature of water coming down from the solar collectors can be chosen and maintained.
When you compare the costs of heating your pool with electricity from the utility grid, natural gas, or even propane, to heating your pool with solar energy, you'll quickly see that harnessing the free power of the sun is far more cost-effective. Some traditional pool heating systems may have lower initial costs, but the maintenance and fuel required every season will quickly rack up. Solar pool heating systems are an effective and money saving solution.

The impressive savings will easily allow a solar system to pay for itself over a short amount of time.
Because these solar systems have few moving parts, they're virtually maintenance free, while also being 100% friendly to the environment. You simply set the water temperature of the pool and enjoy a much longer swim season, without the costly energy bills or environmental damage.
In some areas, you may be able to enjoy a heated pool all year long. Come see why Solar Energy is the choice for your solar pool heater needs.

What Will it Take to See
95% Renewable-Powered World by 2050?
18 trillion dollars, with the U.S. sporting a third of the bill, according to a report by Greenpeace and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC). The groups assert that a drastic shift to renewable energy within the next 40 years is possible with a no-holds-barred approach and some serious owning up by the world's biggest polluters, i.e. who has two thumbs and loves to waste!? This Guy... the U.S. of A. Yes, because "We the People" have one of the longest and by far most intensive history of pollution and greenhouse gas emission, we'll have to pay for a good third of the most important bar tab the world has ever seen, according to Greenpeace. Of the $18 trillion needed to pull it off, the U.S. would be responsible for 36.3 percent of the bill in 2010. That would decrease to 28.9 percent by 2030. China, which recently surpassed the U.S. as the world's largest greenhouse gas emitter , would pay only 4.3 percent in 2010, increasing to 14.3 percent in 2030. China pays less because it has a shorter history of industrial development and GHG emission, and is poorer than the United States and Europe. The nigh unfathomable price tag of $18 trillion is perhaps the bigges.

BP Solar is a key division of BP's Alternative Energy business. With over 2200 employees, this global company is focused on using the sun's energy to create electricity. They are focusing on cleaner and newer technological sources which can help conserve the natural resources of the planet.
With manufacturing facilities in China, the United State, India, and Spain, BP Solar has become one of the largest solar companies in the world. They design, develop, manufacture, and market various solar electric systems for governments, businesses, and homeowners. They strive to build only the very best solar products available today and we are proud to use their (products?).

GE's solar electric power products and systems offer reliable, high quality power solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. The sun can supply local power with no noise or air pollution and it works with both on-and-off grid systems. GE has been around since 1901 and now powers parts of over 100 countries around the world.
Their integrated rooftop solar photovoltaic systems are helping millions of homeowners reduce their monthly electric bills and preserve natural resources. As they continue to develop new solar products, it's clear that this company is concerned about the future of our world.
